Arachnophilia
Arachnophilia is the first HTML editor that I use. The tutorial is well written. It works with most any browser. It does NOT inbed it's own code. It does not mess with the code you use. It is simple. It is FREE!!! Below, I have descibed each of these features. |
The tutorial is excellent.
If you don't know HTML, you can learn it with this. You can see patterns and alter them. See what happens. Experiment all you want. Use the Macros, then see what is displayed. Try the hot keys. Learn by doing. If what you tried doesn't work, just undo it. You can learn even more about HTML from the books listed on our Reading Resources page. However, this is a great way to start. |
It works with most any browser.
I would like to say that it works with every browser, but I don't know that for sure. I do know that it is worth trying with your browser. What's there to lose? It also comes with its own browser. You can see how your page should look, then allow Arachnophilia to use your other browser to see how it looks there. Changes are easy to make. |
It does NOT inbed it's own code.
I have heard that Front Page does this. Other programs do as well. Arachnophilia does not! However, Arachnophilia can’t do everything that Front Page can do. Arachnophilia does tell you how to get around the problems with Front Page. I have been so happy with Arachnophilia, that I haven't often used the other HTML editors that I have. No need to. |
It does not mess with the code you use.
Like Java Scripts, so does Arachnophilia. WAV files, no problem. Clip art, pictures, animated graphics, add them all through the Links Button, or copy and paste. |
It is simple.
Simple is good. I like simple. Point and click is simple. Most of Arachnophilia is just that, point and click. It takes complex code in stride, and allows you to grow after you have learned the basics. |
It is Care Ware!!!
The terms of Care Ware are a must read, even if you don't use the program. People pay a lot of money for a good program. Most programs are worth every cent spent on them. Cheap is cheap, most of the time. Here is one example of quality for less. The cost is more than reasonable, and it won't cost you a cent. This entire Web site has been done with Arachnophilia. |
